Even the national
pastime of baseball has its blemish: the 1919 World Series between the Cincinnati Reds and the Chicago White Sox. It appeared to be like any other World Series at first; just two extremely competitive teams playing their
hardest to see who would be awarded the champions of baseball, the other team would just go home. In this expanded series (instead of winning 4 out of 7 games, the team had to win 5 out of 9 games),
the Cincinnati Reds seemed to hardly survive to win 5 games to 3. The Cincinnati
Reds though had some help. Eight players on the Chicago White Sox fixed the series.
